Hello Bighorn Fans!
Read below for a recap of last week's action as well as details for the upcoming week in LPHS & OMS sports.
LPHS Football
The Lone Peak football team continues its late season surge with two more victories in the last two weeks. The Bighorns led a passionate performance on Homecoming Friday against Choteau with a 48-24 victory, and continued that momentum through to a road game in Simms this weekend, defeating the Tigers in a shootout 64-36. The Bighorns have risen to the 8th ranked team in the state, keeping their playoff hopes alive with a tightly matched division. The Bighorns take on the Sheridan Panthers this Friday.
LPHS Volleyball
The LPHS Volleyball team had a couple of thrilling games going to five sets with Whitehall and Manhattan, but still could not come out on top. They also fell to district matchups Townsend and Ennis. The Lady Bighorns end their last two weeks on the road vs. Jefferson, Sheridan, Shields Valley, and Three Forks. Good luck girls!
LPHS Boys Soccer
The boys soccer team ended their regular season with an outstanding 8-1-3 record putting them second place in the eastern division and earning them a first round playoff matchup next weekend. The Bighorns will face the winner of the play-in game between the Stevensville Yellow Jackets and the Hamilton Broncs. Good luck guys!
LPHS Girls Soccer
The girls soccer team finished their regular season just one slot short of the playoffs, but can proudly say that they posted the best regular season finish in program history. Great work ladies, we are proud of you! Congratulations to seniors Astrid McGuire, Chloe Unger, and Sammy Ayres on a great final year.
OMS Volleyball
The OMS volleyball team played a talented Petra Academy team on Tuesday and kept things tight all game long but ended up not being able to seal the deal. They will face Bear Canyon and Anderson this week. Good luck girls!
OMS Football
The OMS football team lost their game on the road against the Choteau Bulldogs, but will hope for a different result when they host the Sheridan Panthers this Tuesday at home.
OMS Cross Country
OMS Cross country will compete in Townsend this weekend. Good luck guys!
