On Saturday, March 9th, 2024, OMS 8th Grade student Charlotte Merryman joined 53 participants from 40 of Montana's 56 counties to complete in the Montana's 59th Annual Treasure State Spelling Bee. Charlotte is the 2nd OMS student to qualify from the Big Sky School District #72.
The Merryman family made a remarkable effort for Charlotte to participate as she was participating in Expedition Yellowstone with the 8th graders. She was picked up in Mammoth early morning to participate in the Spelling Bee at MSU, then returned in the afternoon. Charlotte and 16 other students made it to the 5th round when Charlotte and 4 additional participants were eliminated.
