LPHS Volleyball
The LPHS Volleyball team faced some adversity going into the Divisional Tournament and unfortunately their season ended with a loss to Superior. They had a fantastic year and we are all very proud of them! Good job ladies!
OMS Boys Basketball
5/6 Grade
On Tuesday the Miners lost a nail biter, in a packed gym, to our rivals from Bear Canyon. Declan Mitchell played a great all around game and chipped in 8 points. Just when all hope seemed lost for the Miners, Jack Potocki went bonkers with 12 second half points, including a pair of three pointers. Russell Mitchell (get used to hearing that name in this report) had a great steal in the final minute. It was not quite enough, and Bear Canyon held on for the 24-22 win.
On Thursday, our miners made the journey to Gallatin Gateway, losing another close game 26-22. Jens Biggerstaff played like a grown man, scoring 9 points and hauling in 12 rebounds. Mason Michiels played defense like the monstars from Space Jam. Jeremiah Larson also broke out with his first 6 points of the season.
7/8 Grade
On Tuesday the 7/8 grade Miners team made a statement that they will plan to continue the success of last season, routing Bear Canyon 36-10. The scoring for the Miners is as follows: Ryan Malinowski 12, Nick Hoadley 11, Miles Romney 7, Sid Morris 4, Boone Jorgenson 2.
On Thursday they also came away with a road victory vs. Gallatin Gateway, but the Miners had to earn it in a close game. Winning 42-34, the boys did a nice job of not letting their opponent get too far back into the game. Scoring: Ryan Malinowski 22, Miles Romney 12, Sidney Morris 6, Micah Larson 2.
GREAT WORK MINERS!
